Every month we will be selecting a team member for our Employee Spotlight.

This month we’re introducing Alex Henry. Alex is a Paramedic on D-Shift and has been working for Greenville County EMS since April of 2019.

What is your favorite quote, saying, or motto?

“Be a duck, remain calm on the surface and paddle like the dickens underneath.” – Michael Caine

What is your greatest achievement in life so far?

I was a C student in high school but was valedictorian in my Paramedic class.

What is your #1 pet peeve?

Bad drivers.

What is your most memorable moment in your EMS career?

My first day with an EMT basic. It made me realize my responsibilities as a provider and gave me more confidence and ability to work with my partner.

What is your favorite movie or play?

Casablanca

What would constitute a perfect EMS crew member?

Someone I can bounce ideas off of and debrief with after a call. Someone that knows how I operate and can help a call run as smooth as possible.

What is your best kept secret?

My middle name.

What would you consider your worst habit?

I’m bad with navigating/directions. I tend to mix up my left and right turns.

Greatest inspiration in your life?

My 8th grade history teacher. She had experienced many different things and taught me that I can always learn new things and different skill sets.

What is your favorite food item?

Pizza. Bad pizza is actually still good food.

What would be considered luxury to you?

A good night sleep.

If you could meet anyone in the history of the world, who and why?

My grandfather on my mom’s side. He was a Corpsman in the Navy and was the only family I’ve had, other than myself, that’s been in healthcare.

What would your epitaph say?

“I told you I was sick.”

What is your favorite type of music?

Anything from the 60’s – 90’s.

Where would you like to grow old?

South Island New Zealand.
