Question:

Who is responsible for installing street signs, stop signs, children at play signs, no litter signs, no parking signs?

Answer:

Contact the Engineering & Maintenance Division Sign Shop at 864.834.2962 concerning the installation of street signs and stop signs. Due to safety reasons and possible liability, Greenville County no longer installs "Children at Play" signs. "Slow Down for Safety" signs are available for pickup at the main office, Suite S-3000, County Square. For "No Littering" signs, contact the Litter Prevention Coordinator at 864.467.7289. For "No Parking" signs, contact the Engineering & Maintenance Division Sign Shop at 864.834.2962. This request will require a study to determine if signs are warranted.

Question:

What is the sign ordinance?

Answer:

The sign ordinance regulates the placement of advertising signs on private property. Certain criteria apply in each zoning district. Contact the Codes Enforcement Division at 864.467.7425 for further information.

Question:

Where do you report damaged signs?

Answer:

Contact the Public Works Division Sign Shop at 864.834.2962.
