Subdivision Administration Staff is responsible for the administration of all subdivision of land, including Preliminary Plans, Summary Plats, and Simple/Record Plats. This team is also responsible for the management of Financial Security for all new and continuing subdivision projects.

Subdivision Regulations

The Greenville County Planning Commission is responsible for review and approval of all proposed subdivisions in the unincorporated areas of Greenville County, as well as the cities of Mauldin, Simpsonville, Fountain Inn, and Travelers Rest. The review of the preliminary plan begins with the Subdivision Advisory Committee, a group comprised of staff members of public utilities and public service providers, as well as other State and County agencies.

Following the Subdivision Advisory Committee review, staff prepares a list of conditions necessary for approval that are required by the Subdivision Advisory Committee. On the fourth Wednesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. the Planning Commission meets and reviews the recommendations of the Subdivision Staff and the Subdivision Advisory Committee. The Commission may approve, reject or modify the subdivision preliminary plan.
