Jury service is an important civic responsibility and a legal obligation under South Carolina law. However, jurors experiencing scheduling conflicts may request a one-time postponement of their service to a later term of court.

To request a postponement, please complete the Circuit Court Jury Postponement Request Form below. Requests are reviewed in accordance with South Carolina law and court scheduling requirements. If approved, the Clerk of Court’s Office will notify you of your new service date.

Submitting a request does not excuse you from your original summons. Unless your postponement is approved, you are required to report as scheduled.

If you would like to request this transfer to another term of court, please submit your request using the online Circuit Court Jury Postponement Request Form. Should you receive a summons with a new date, please complete again all the information on the juror summons and return it in the envelope provided.
