Greenville County Council's Planning and Development Committee (P&D) hosted a workshop on October 2, 2023 with Planning Commission, utility providers, and the development community to discuss growth management and environmental protection policies related to a pending county ordinance. This productive meeting revealed many areas of agreement as well as potential solutions for further study. Planning staff will work with P&D to refine the county's growth management and envrionmental policies to better align with the needs of its stakeholders. Northern Greenville County Zoning Meeting: CANCELLED

Update: This meeting has been CANCELLED. This meeting was not organized by the County and was desired by a group of citizens who were interested in pursuing zoning for a particular area in the northern part of the County.  The day before the meeting, the church withdrew their offer to hold the meeting at their location.  The meeting organizers told us that they posted signs on the church that the meeting was cancelled.  For any questions, please contact Ms. Phoenikx Buathier, the Zoning Administrator, at PBuathier@greenvillecounty.org.

Five Forks Area Plan Kick-off Meeting

Hands On Greenville Events Around the County

The United Way is hosting another annual Hands On Greenville (HOG) Day in our County and a number of communities that the Greenville County Planning Department is currently working with will be participating. These communities invite anyone interested in participating to join the effort to provide community clean-up and restoration projects in several key areas. HOG Day events are planned in City View, Monaghan, and Sans Souci neighborhoods. Dublin Road Area Draft Plan available for review

After many months of waiting the Fountain Inn Master Plan is ready and moving forward. On Thursday night the Fountain Inn Planning Commission will hear a presentation on the final master plan draft from Greenville County planning staff. AGRICULTURE ZONING DISTRICT

Fountain Inn Master Plan & Survey Results

The City of Fountain Inn recently began the public input phase for their new Master Plan. A survey was released and quickly reached over 570 responses! The first of several public meetings for the plan was held on Tuesday April the 26th. 

On Monday May 9th Greenville County staff presented to the City of Fountain Inn's City Council and Planning Commission. The presentation summarized som of the key findings from the survey results and the public meeting.

The City of Fountain Inn has posted a survey for residents to submit input in advance of the 2016 City Master Plan. The last plan was published in 2006.

Arbor Day & Tree City USA Ceremony - Fountain Inn

On Sunday December, 6th 2015 newly elected Mayor of Fountain Inn, Sam Lee, proclaimed the day to be Arbor Day in the City of Fountain Inn. The proclamation was part of tree dedication and planting ceremony in the Municipal cemetery which is being revitalized on SC highway 418. Four October Glory Red Maple trees and two Hiromi Cherry trees have been planted so far with much more to come. A cemetery revitalization plan is being conducted as part of the City’s upcoming Master Plan update.

Fountain Inn Historic Marker

The City of Fountain Inn and the Fountain Inn Museum hosted a dedication of the State Historic Marker for the Fountain Inn Municipal Cemetery on a brisk January morning earlier this month. Among the many introductions, Mayor Gary Long made a special effort to thank Dan Powell for his work with the Greenville County Planning Department which was necessary to make this Historic Marker happen. After introductions Dr. Ehren Foley, Coordinator for the South Carolina Historical Marker Program shared about the significance cemeteries throughout history and in particular the history of Fountain Inn.

Judson Mill Street Lighting Project

Judson Community Update

The residents of Judson have accomplished a lot since their community plan was adopted in 2012.  The Judson Community now has a community garden and working with local stakeholders, residents have seen improvements in recreation and housing opportunities.  The Judson Community is now focusing on improving the street lighting in the community.  The community association has been in contact with Duke Energy and has conducted a night audit of the existing street lighting infrastructure.
