Slater-Marietta Community Survey Now Open

Folks in the Slater-Marietta area are invited to participate in a community survey, open now through June 10.  In an effort to get the word out, 1000 postcards have been mailed to area residents, inviting them to complete the survey.

Since April 2018, County Planning staff has worked closely with residents of the Slater and Marietta Communities to develop goals and action items related to projected growth and development within the area. Monthly meetings have been held since then covering such topics as transportation, recreation, housing, community appearance, litter control, code enforcement and various others. Slater-Marietta Area Plan Update

On August 14, 2018 the Slater-Marietta Community met for a discussion of Transportation Issues within the Community. Mike Holden, SCDOT Engineer, was on hand to answer questions from community members regarding traffic lights, traffic calming, and other measures to improve safety along U.S. Highway 276. Additional discussion centered on the quality of the existing tennis courts and recreation fields, and the need for improved facilities. See meeting notes below.
