Allen A. Hodges, CPA

Allen A. Hodges, CPA, serves as the Greenville County Treasurer, having been elected in 2022 and assuming office in July 2023.

Mr. Hodges is a Certified Public Accountant with more than 40 years of experience in accounting, taxation, and business management. Prior to his election as Treasurer, he spent decades as a CPA in public accounting and corporate finance, including service in financial roles for large complex companies with nationwide operations. His professional career has been marked by a strong focus on fiscal accountability, strategic financial management, and collaborative leadership.

Immediately before entering public service, Mr. Hodges was a Partner at Stokes & Company, CPAs, PC. He retired from public accounting in 2023. Earlier in his career, he held senior executive roles, including Chief Financial Officer of Interfilm Holdings, Inc., where he oversaw consolidated financial reporting, tax compliance, banking relationships, risk management, and mergers and acquisitions. He also served as Corporate Controller for JPS Textiles, a former Fortune 500 company, with responsibility for consolidations, SEC reporting, internal controls, audits, and financial restructuring initiatives.

Mr. Hodges began his career in public accounting with Ernst & Young, advancing to the manager level, and later served as a partner with Stair, Hodges & Co., providing audit, tax, and advisory services to clients across multiple industries.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bob Jones University and is a CPA and Chartered Global Management Accountant. Mr. Hodges has been actively involved in professional and community organizations throughout his career, including service as a Board Member and Chair of the South Carolina Association of CPAs, as well as board service with the Taylors Free Medical Clinic, Rivertree Singers, and Missionary Evangelism, Inc. He has also served on the SCACPA Education Fund Scholarship Committee and the advisory board for SCOPE (School for Continuing, Online and Professional Education). He has also served in the past on the board (including President and Treasurer) of the Greenville Civitan Club and served as a church deacon and trustee of a Christian school.

As Greenville County Treasurer, Mr. Hodges is committed to sound financial stewardship, operational excellence, and responsive service to the citizens of Greenville County.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, he enjoys reading, baseball and other sports, theater and concerts, history, and traveling with his wife.
