Alan Mitchell
District 23

Alan Mitchell was elected in November of 2022 to represent Greenville County Council District 23, which includes a large portion of the center of Greenville County; just west of Haywood Road through the center of downtown Greenville and west to the Pickens County line. He has been appointed to serve as Vice-Chairman of the Roads & Infrastructure Committee. Over his years of public service, Alan has learned that the best leaders are servant leaders who listen to constituents, take their concerns into serious consideration, and then make decisions based on all input and guidance that will result in the best outcome for all.

Prior to being elected to Greenville County Council, Alan served as President of the Nicholtown Neighborhood Association, Inc. where he was able to bring health partners into his neighborhood to improve health outcomes, work with the City of Greenville to implement infrastructure improvements, and helped to spearhead affordable housing projects. His aim is to help the rest of his District in Greenville County receive the same kind of services and improvements.

During his tenure at the Greenville Health System (now PRISMA Health) he worked as a construction procurement/ purchasing agent in the Facilities Development Department, and also helped manage several healthcare and other essential construction projects.

Although he has extensive experience in several areas of expertise, his accomplishments are built on the stewardship and servant leader fundamentals that have guided his civic engagement. His commitment to achieving the honorable is evident in the work he has been able to accomplish during his lifetime.

Alan holds a degree in Architecture from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and resides in the Nicholtown neighborhood in District 23.
