The commission consists of five (5) members who are appointed for three (3) year terms, as follows:

• Greenville County Council appoints two (2) members
• Greenville City Council appoints two (2) members
• One member is appointed at large

Powers and Duties:

• To receive any gifts or donations from any source.
• To hold and enjoy property, both real and personal as granted to individuals under the law, for the purpose of establishing and maintaining airplane landing fields and county parks in Greenville County.
• To make such rules and regulations as may be necessary in the conduct and operation of said fields and county parks.
• To condemn, take and use any land or property it may deem necessary for the purpose of establishing and protecting said fields.
• To lease, rent, or improve any real estate that it may own and which in its judgment is not necessary for the actual operation of an airport or a landing facility.
• To borrow money, issue negotiable bonds, notes and other evidences of indebtedness, not exceeding one million dollars, payable solely from the revenue derived from the operation of any revenue-producing facility under its jurisdiction and may mortgage or pledge any assets owned by the commission in connection with such indebtedness.
• The commission employs the director, who, in turn, employs the personnel.
