Greenville County encourages those needing to pay taxes to avoid coming inside County Square.
Citizens can pay property taxes through the mail, the internet or by using the convenient dropbox located outside the Tax Office. The County accepts credit and debit card payments on our website, online. From now until April 30, the County will waive the online service fee provided by SC.GOV, our third-party provider.
Does your vehicle license plate expire between March 2020 and June 2020? You now have until July 1st 2020 to register or renew your vehicle plates.
DMV has extended deadlines for:
 • Motor vehicles registrations and plates
 • 45 day temporary license plates
Note: Expired plates may not be valid outside of SC
The service fee for Hospitality Taxes will also be waived until April 30th.

Continuity of Government in Event of Emergency

It is the policy of Greenville County to respond quickly in event of emergency. Continuity of government is paramount in the event of crisis.

Greenville County is working internally and with many public and private organizations to assure that in case of extreme emergency that essential County government services would continue.

County leaders and Greenville County Emergency Management have already met, discussed, and updated the existing Continuity of Operations Plan. This detailed document has contingency plans that ensure performance, protect human and natural resources, identify line of succession, and much more. Procedures and policies have been in place for decades but are consistently being modernized, modified and improved to effectively deal with unique situations.

While we are doing all that we can to be prepared to carry out county-wide operations, there is much our community can do to help mitigate the impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
