The Pretrial Intervention Program (PTI) is a state legislated diversion program which allows the defendant to be diverted from court. The program provides rehabilitative services with the goal of deterring the defendant from committing future crimes. Requirements may include but are not limited to community service work, program fees, random drug screens, individual or group counseling and restitution to the victim, if applicable.

A person, charged as an adult may only participate in the program once in a lifetime. Out of county or state supervision is available under limited circumstances. Upon successful completion of the program, the charge will be dismissed and criminal prosecution is avoided. The participant may apply for an expungement of the charge(s).
