Riverdale-Tanglewood Community Plan Update

Staff presented the Draft Riverdale-Tanglewood Community Plan to the community on May 8, 2018, and again on June 19, 2018, and requested feedback on the plan. Since then, the Draft Plan has been updated to reflect comments made both at the meeting and afterward. Additions include: a goal of enhanced notifications of zoning public hearings for nearby property owners; as well as, methods for dealing with long-standing grandfathered and nonconforming uses within the community. Five Forks Area Plan Kick-off Meeting

Greenville County Planning Staff and County Council Members Butch Kirven, Rick Roberts, and Dan Tripp (elect) met with residents of the Five Forks Community on June 14th to Kick-off the start of the Five Forks Area Plan. The United Way is hosting another annual Hands On Greenville (HOG) Day in our County and a number of communities that the Greenville County Planning Department is currently working with will be participating. These communities invite anyone interested in participating to join the effort to provide community clean-up and restoration projects in several key areas. HOG Day events are planned in City View, Monaghan, and Sans Souci neighborhoods. These community service opportunities take place on Saturday, May 5th, and will be followed up by an after party at Fluor Field. Sans Souci Community Meeting Recap: Crime & Litter

The April 24th Sans Souci Neighborhood Alliance community meeting offered a host of valuable information for local residents with news on upcoming community projects, an introduction to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Environmental Enforcement Division, a detailing of Greater Greenville Sanitation Commission services, as well as a brief look at the benefits of CPTED guidelines (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design). Minutes from the meeting (including contact information from various presenters) and presentation slides are provided below. County Planning Staff hopes that as these various resources become more widely understood and utilized, that they may aid in promoting a cleaner and safer environment for all residents in Sans Souci.

Monaghan Crime and Litter Community Plan Meeting Recap

The Greenville County Planning Department was hosted at the March 27th Sans Souci Neighborhood Alliance meeting to discuss a number of community-inspired concerns that were particularly raised during the previous Neighborhood Alliance meeting. The topics of focus consisted, broadly speaking, of streets and safety. County Planning Staff covered one of the primary ways in which public safety on streetscapes is impacted - that is, through street lighting. Sans Souci Community Meeting Recap: Future Land Use Exercise

On Tuesday, February 27th, the Sans Souci Neighborhood Alliance with the Greenville County Planning Department held a community meeting that was broadly advertised across the neighborhood. There was a wonderful turnout for what was the Future Land Use exercise, which involved discussion and mapping of a variety of land uses across the study area. Residents and property owners of the area were extremely helpful through the expression of their feedback; however, if anyone was unable to attend the meeting or wishes to offer additional input, please contact either Jonathan Hanna or Tina Belge with your ideas.

City View Feedback Exercise Held For Plan Outline

County Planning Staff met with the City View Coalition last Monday (2/5/2018) to present a draft outline for the City View Community Plan. Participants in this exercise were asked to provide feedback by rating each designated principle in the outline a priority ranking (on a scale of 1 to 5). Community members were also provided open space to comment on each section and offer more specific feedback. A link to the feedback exercise is available below. Dublin Road Area Draft Plan available for review

Since December of 2016, Planning staff has worked with community leaders and residents from the Dublin Road area to develop the Dublin Road Area Plan, a guide for growth. This plan primarily addresses land use and transportation concerns expressed by the community, due in large part to recent growth pressures in the area. City View Steering Committee Meeting Recap

On Tuesday, September 19th, County Planning Staff met with the City View Steering Committee to cover the subject of zoning, its function, and how to plan for the future with zoning principles. The discussion is outlined in the linked meeting minutes and presentation slides below. The presentation was followed by an extended Future Land Use Map exercise with the community in which committee members were tasked with coming to a consensus for how to recommend development to be organized in the long-term future.
