Slater-Marietta
Update
Slater-Marietta Community Planning
Posted: 04/03/19 3:47 PM by Tyler Stone

Since April 2018, County Planning staff has worked closely with residents of the Slater and Marietta Communities to develop goals and action items related to projected growth and development within the area. Monthly meetings have been held since then covering such topics as transportation, recreation, housing, community appearance, litter control, code enforcement and various others. We wanted to take this opportunity to share some of the results of these exercises (see links below), as well as to invite members of the community to join the ongoing process of developing the Slater-Marietta Community Plan. Results include, preliminary concept plans for walking trails and connections to the future Swamp Rabbit Trail, as well as preliminary Highway 276 Streetscape improvements, and a list of action items and goals for the community and county to address over the next ten years.

Members of the Slater and Marietta Communities are now working toward forming a new Community Association to better involve resident and stakeholders like you. If you are interested in participating, please join the group at their formational meeting on April 9, 2019 at 7:00 pm at Slater Community Hall, 5 Whitney St. Slater, SC 29683.

Don't hesitate to contact County Planning staff if you have any questions: astone@greenvillecounty.org or 864-467-7279
