Trucks hauling construction and demolition debris (including but not limited to rocks, concrete, lumber, bricks, structural fabrics, glass, and roofing materials) are routed to this area of the landfill. The C&D Area is separate from the MSW Disposal Areas. Decomposition of C & D debris do not pose the threat to groundwater resources and the environment that are possible from the decomposition of MSW. As a result the complex layers of geosynthetic liners and leachate collection systems are not required in the C&D Area.
