All white goods (such as refrigerators, stoves, and water heaters) are transported to this area. State law prohibits the disposal of appliances with Municipal Solid Waste. Approximately every 6 weeks a steel recycling company collections these items and transports them to a recycling facility where the items are first shredded, then melted, and the steel content is reclaimed and recycled into new steel products.
