Online Tax Payment Option

NOTE: Please read this entire page prior to selecting the online payment option.

Greenville County encourages those needing to pay taxes to avoid coming inside County Square.

You can pay property taxes through the mail, by telephone, the internet, or onsite kiosk.

We accept electronic check as well as credit and debit card payments through the Internet for ALL types of taxes including vehicle taxes. We also accept tax payments over the telephone. You can access our telephonic payment service by calling 1.844.257.6200.

We have chosen to use AutoAgent as our merchant to provide these online and telephone payment services to you. You can now make multiple tax payments through one transaction by using our fully featured shopping cart. This gives you the ability to locate your parcel(s), boat, motor, automobile and business taxes, add them to your cart, and submit your payment using credit and debit cards, or eCheck in a secure environment.

Please keep in mind that, per South Carolina State Law, you cannot pay a current tax bill if there are outstanding prior year taxes on that same property. Greenville County will return any tax payment made for current taxes if there are prior years taxes outstanding.

Any transactional charges paid will NOT be refunded. Insufficient funds, debit blocked or incorrect routing and account numbers will result in a returned check and transaction processing fee.

Please examine all of the information as you determine if this method of payment suits your needs. Please ensure that you are paying the correct account as refunds are not authorized except in very limited circumstances once an official receipt is issued. Contact the payment processor if you discover you have made an erroneous payment. The reversal of any type electronic payment after the account is marked paid will result in a $30 transaction failure fee. Your election of this form of payment constitutes that you understand the contents of this page and are an authorized credit card user.

The digital confirmation receipt that you print after making your payment is only a confirmation of your payment, but this is NOT acceptable at the DMV. You will be mailed an official tax receipt within seven (7) business days of your payment. Receipts will not be faxed, so please allow enough time to receive your official tax receipt in the mail.

The DMV will mail a decal for renewals if you pay prior to the due date. You should receive the decal 5-7 days after your payment has been processed in our system.

PLEASE NOTE: Your account may NOT show this payment for up to four (4) business days after you make your payment. Do NOT submit a second payment if you receive a digital confirmation receipt and confirmation number. The transaction date will be the payment date posted to your account.

Internet payments received after closing time will be counted as being made the next day.
