Sans Souci Community Plan Final Draft

On October 23rd, Greenville County Planning Staff met with the Sans Souci Neighborhood Alliance to reveal the final draft of the Sans Souci Community Plan. After introducing the plan, the bulk of the time spent was in allowing community members to review the final draft and ask questions as they arose. A digital version of the plan is also available online for any community members interested in reviewing the document after the meeting. Feedback, questions, or corrections will continue to be solicited over the following weeks, which may be directed to Tina Belge or Jonathan Hanna. Sans Souci Community Meeting Recap: Community Plan Overview

The Sans Souci Neighborhood Alliance hosted Greenville County Planning Staff once again as they presented residents with an outline of the in-progress Sans Souci Community Plan. Planner Tina Belge walked through the various goals and objectives that are currently serving as the tentpoles of the plan document. Once a draft of the plan is completed, the document will be shared with Sans Souci Neighborhood Alliance Committees and, ultimately, with the community-at-large. Sans Souci Community Meeting Recap: Beautification

On June 26th, the Sans Souci Neighborhood Alliance met at Sans Souci Church with local residents and allowed County Planning Staff the opportunity to complete what has been a series of topics, culminating with the subject of Community Beautification. Sans Souci Community Meeting Recap: Crime & Litter

The April 24th Sans Souci Neighborhood Alliance community meeting offered a host of valuable information for local residents with news on upcoming community projects, an introduction to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Environmental Enforcement Division, a detailing of Greater Greenville Sanitation Commission services, as well as a brief look at the benefits of CPTED guidelines (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design). Minutes from the meeting (including contact information from various presenters) and presentation slides are provided below. Sans Souci Community Meeting Recap: Streets & Safety

The Greenville County Planning Department was hosted at the March 27th Sans Souci Neighborhood Alliance meeting to discuss a number of community-inspired concerns that were particularly raised during the previous Neighborhood Alliance meeting. The topics of focus consisted, broadly speaking, of streets and safety. County Planning Staff covered one of the primary ways in which public safety on streetscapes is impacted - that is, through street lighting. Sans Souci Community Meeting Recap: Future Land Use Exercise

On Tuesday, February 27th, the Sans Souci Neighborhood Alliance with the Greenville County Planning Department held a community meeting that was broadly advertised across the neighborhood. There was a wonderful turnout for what was the Future Land Use exercise, which involved discussion and mapping of a variety of land uses across the study area. Residents and property owners of the area were extremely helpful through the expression of their feedback; however, if anyone was unable to attend the meeting or wishes to offer additional input, please contact either Jonathan Hanna or Tina Belge with your ideas.

Sans Souci Community Meeting Recap: Affordable Housing

Greenville County Planning Staff met with the Sans Souci Neighborhood Alliance on January 23, 2018, to discuss the requested topic of Affordable Housing. Tina Belge led the discussion and leaned on much of her own experience from working at the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority. Staff covered a number of issues such as the changing demographics in Sans Souci, as well as the myriad of available resources and potential policies that are designed to address the common issues surrounding affordable housing. Sans Souci Community Planning Meeting Recap (8/31/2017)

Greenville County Planning Staff held a planning meeting with Sans Souci Neighborhood Alliance members and community members to discuss a few topics that have been raised through the course of previous meetings. First Sans Souci Committee Meeting Held June 19th

On Monday, June 19th, County Planning Staff met with members of the Sans Souci Neighborhood Alliance's Infrastructure, Economic Development, & Finance Committee to discuss issues of infrastructure surrounding transportation in the community. Planning Staff was accompanied by GPATS Transportation Planners Keith Brockington and Brennan Hansley, as well as County Roads & Bridges Engineer Kurt Walters. This Saturday, May 20th, the Sans Souci Neighborhood Association is hosting a community-wide event for residents, neighbors, family, friends, and stakeholders. Sans Souci Community Plan Process Commences

Upcoming Sans Souci Neighborhood Alliance Meetings

The Sans Souci Neighborhood Alliance (SSNA) is hosting two upcoming meetings for residents and business owners in the area to come out and provide feedback in the pre-planning process for the Sans Souci area. The first meeting is September 20th, 6pm-7:30pm, and the second meeting is on October 22nd, 11am-12:30pm. Both meetings will be held at Sans Souci Baptist Church (3100 Old Buncombe Rd). These meetings will include asset mapping exercises for the area as well as opportunities to become involved on the SSNA Board of Directors.

The Greenville County Long Range Planning Department was recently invited to attend Sans Souci’s most recent Community Meeting, which was held last Tuesday, May 19th.
