Recording & Scanning Plats It is our goal to provide the best possible images of your documents for public record. Occasionally plats are brought to us folded multiple times. This causes creases on the paper that when scanned create dark bold lines on the plat. Will you help us get the word out to make every effort not to fold plats prior to recording? Thank you! E-Recording Update We are currently accepting documents submitted through the following vendors. Please contact one of them to begin e-recording with Greenville County. You may want to watch this short video for an introduction to e-recording. Download the full announcement.
New Shelving In March 2011, we replaced the old shelving for the deed books and plats in our record room, providing a modern, space-efficient means to effectively preserve our important land records.Scan & Return In January 2011, we implemented a new process for returning original documents after recording. Instead of holding documents a week before returning them, we will scan your documents immediately after recording and return the originals to you before you leave our office. Credit Cards On June 7, 2010, the South Carolina Code of Laws was amended to allow registers of deeds to accept credit cards (Section 14-1-214). We accept VISA, MasterCard, and Discover for all transactions. Please be aware that the same code requires us to impose a fee to offset administrative fees. Therefore, we will be adding a surcharge of 3% to all credit card transactions. Our desire is to offer this feature as a way to help minimize the possibility of check fraud.
