Joe Taylre joined the HRC in April of 2008 administering the HOPE Hotline foreclosure prevention program.

Prior to joining the HRC, Joe worked for an Asheville non-profit affordable housing agency where he set-up and administered four down payment assistance loan programs. Prior to running the loan program, Joe worked for two years as a certified credit and housing counselor with Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Asheville.

Joe’s experience as a counselor includes debt management, budget structuring, consumer disputes, mortgage preparation, foreclosure prevention, pre and post-closing education.

Joe is a (Georgia) licensed real estate agent and worked in the Atlanta housing market representing both buyers and sellers for four years. In addition, Joe has been a real estate investor for more than twenty years.

Educational credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in language studies from Georgia State University, national certification in credit and housing counseling, HUD certification in mortgage loss mitigation and Capstone certified in mortgage services.
