		1968	Fair Housing Act was passed as an amendment to the Civil Rights Act

	Greenville Mayor Cooper White created the Mayor's Committee of Human Relations (16 members-8 whites and 8 blacks) Dr. William F. Gibson and Doug Smith co-chaired this committee	1969
