You may communicate with an inmate through telephone conversations. All telephone calls must be initiated by the inmate, utilizing the telephones provided for their use within the facility. All out-going telephone calls from inmates are made on collect only telephones. Inmates are unable to receive incoming telephone calls.

If an inmate is attempting to contact you, a recorded message will inform you that a call is being received from an inmate at the Greenville County Detention Center. You will not be charged for the call unless you accept the call by selecting the option to do so. The maximum length of the call is 15 minutes. A recorded message will alert you when the call has reached 14 minutes and there is only one minute remaining.

At the completion of the free minute, the cellular phone owner will be told that a pre-pay account must be set up prior to receiving any further calls. Additionally, this cellular number is blocked from receiving additional incoming telephone calls from the facility until an account is set up.

Attorney Telephone Procedure

The Greenville County Detention Center has contracted with Global Tel*Link to provide its inmate telephone system. This system monitors and records inmate telephone calls.

Should an attorney desire to receive confidential inmate telephone calls, the Detention Center requires attorneys to complete a Request for Confidential Inmate Phone Call Form identifying all attorney telephone numbers to be excluded from monitoring and recording. Upon receipt of this form, identified numbers will be excluded from the phone computer from monitoring and recording.
