Wickensimer Clerk of Court Circuit Court Division PROTECTION REQUEST MEMO(Please do not e-file requests/proposed Orders for Attorney Protection) RE: Greenville Common Pleas Chief Administrative Judges Attorney Protection Request Preferences 1. Please submit ONE general request for protection* (in either letter form or proposed Order with NO case information in the caption) irrespective of the number of active cases you have. Send via e-mail or regular mail to the Chief Administrative Judges law clerk or to the civil court coordinators office. 2. Requests which do not conflict with currently scheduled hearings or trials will be summarily granted as to ALL your active cases. If there is a conflicting court event, please note it in your request and copy all counsel/pro se parties. 3. After protection is granted, you will be e-mailed a confirmation that the requested dates have been entered in the case Management System and reflected in EVERY civil action in which you are listed as attorney of record. The original confirmation will be stored for a time in the Clerks Office but will not automatically be made a part of a case file.* 4. Should a court event be inadvertently scheduled during a previously granted date range, please send a request for continuance to the Court with the appropriate protection confirmation sheet attached. 5. *Formal Orders of Protection/Continuance for individual cases may be considered when the requested dates conflict with a previously-scheduled court event in that particular case; or, if for any other reason, by permission of the Chief Administrative Judge. If permissible please send the proposed Order directly to the Chief Administrative Judge via US Mail. It will be considered and if approved signed (or confirmed by the Clerk) manually, then returned to the requesting attorney via e-mail in .pdf format. If a signed (or confirmed) Order/Request needs to be included in a case file please e-file it using the Action Type: Filing and the Action: Order/Signed Order/Protection from Court Appearance.
