Saluda Lake Special Tax District
Purpose(s)/Service(s): provides for lake clean-up. Pursuant to Section 4-9-30(5)(a)(i) of the Code of Laws of South Carolina, Ordinance No. 2799 created the Saluda Lake Special Tax District. The purpose of the district is to provide funding for the proposed dredging project in the upper end of Saluda Lake. The Saluda Lake Tax District Commission is the governing body of the district consisting of three (3) members appointed by County Council. All members of the Commission shall reside within the geographical boundaries of the special tax district. County Council shall fill vacancies on the Commission for the remainder of the unexpired term. The Commission is responsible for maintaining and operating the Saluda Lake Special Tax District in accordance with the purpose set forth in Section 3 of Ordinance No. 2799. The Commission shall adopt its own rules and operating procedures.
