Greenville Arena District
Purpose(s)/Service(s): provides for BILO Center (auditorium) management. Act No. 1010 of 1948 amended Act Nos. 333 (1945), 1210 (1940), and 332 (1945) to change the name from the Greater Greenville Sewer District to the Greenville Memorial Auditorium District. Act No. 1010 also established the board of trustees to govern the district. The board is composed of nine members who are resident citizens of the district and appointed by the governor upon recommendation of the Greenville County Legislative Delegation. Board members serve for terms of three years and until their successors are appointed and qualified. The board operates, maintains, and equips the Bi-Lo Center, may acquire real estate, construct, and equip additional building to carryout the purposes for which the special purpose district was created.
