Greenlink Board of Commissioners

Purpose(s)/Service(s): public transportation.
Enabling Legislation: Greenville County Council Ordinance Nos. 355 (10/16/1974); 1939 (1/17/1989).
Pursuant to South Carolina Code: 58-25-10 et seq (1976)

Pursuant to Chapter 25, Title 58 of the SC Code of Laws, Ordinance No. 1939 created the joint Greenville Transit Authority for the City and County of Greenville, South Carolina. The board consists of the following members:

  • Greenville City Council: two (2) members
  • Greenville County Council: two (2) members
  • Greenville County Legislative Delegation: three (3) members

Members serve for three (3) years and until a successor has been appointed and qualified. Members do not receive compensation for their services, but shall be entitled to all necessary expenses, including travel expenses, incurred in the discharge of their duties as members. The board meets the fourth Monday of the month at 12:00 noon.

In addition to the powers, duties and responsibilities as set forth in Chapter 25, Title 58 of the SC Code of Laws (1976), as amended, the board oversees the financial and operational areas. The board adopts an annual budget, approves major expenditures and service changes, and sets priorities and service standards.
