Buxton Special Tax District
Purpose(s)/Service(s): provides for lights and other improvements. Pursuant to Section 4-9-30(5)(a) of the Code of Laws of South Carolina, Ordinance No. 1783 created the Buxton Subdivision Special Tax District. The purpose of this district is to provide installation, maintenance and electrical service for entrance lights and streetlights and to maintain and promote improvements for the entrances, exits and rights-of-way within the district. The Buxton Tax District Commission is the governing body of this special tax district and consists of three (3) members appointed by County Council. All members of the Commission shall reside within the geographical boundaries of the special tax district. County Council shall fill vacancies on the Commission for the remainder of the unexpired term. The Commission shall be responsible for maintaining and operating the tax district in accordance with the purposes set forth in Section 3 of Ordinance 1783.
