Dean Campbell began working in the County Attorney’s Office in May 2004.

Dean has had extensive work experience with the South Carolina General Assembly. He began working after college as a research analyst for the House Medical, Military, Public, and Municipal Affairs Committee. During law school, Dean clerked for the House Judiciary Committee. After completing law school, Dean became Staff Counsel for the House Research Office. Most recently, Dean served as Executive Director of Research and Personnel for the South Carolina House of Representatives.

Dean’s background also includes prosecutorial experience. From 1998 through 2002, he was a South Carolina Assistant Attorney General responsible for prosecuting insurance fraud and insurance-related cases statewide. He also has prosecuted cases for the 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

Dean received a B.A. in political science in 1990 from Clemson University. He received his law degree from the University of South Carolina in 1997.
