Expiration Of Permits
Question
How long is a permit valid for?
Answer
The application for a permit is valid for 180 day. If the permit or plans have not
been picked up within this 180-day time the application becomes invalid. Once a
permit is issued the permit is also valid for 180 days from the date of issue and
is updated each time an inspection is made for another 180-days.
If there is a time when you have not had an inspection and the 180 day time frame is running out, you can call and update the permit only if the permit is within its 180 day time frame. When a permit expires and it is within 6 months of the expiration date the renewal fee is half the permit fee. When it has been over a year a new fee is required. A permit may be renewed at no cost when a hardship occurs. This hardship must be submitted in writing and approved by the Building Official. |
