Copies of Warrants and Indictments
The Clerk of Courts office receives warrants/ tickets to be tried in General Sessions
Court from all Greenville County Magistrates and Municipal Courts usually within 15
days after the arrest of an individual. General Sessions Court hears cases that are
felonies or higher court cases. Once the Clerk of Court receives a warrant/ticket it
becomes public record. Indictments are prepared by the Solicitors office and are received
by the Clerk after they have been presented to the Grand Jury.
The fee for certified copies of these documents is one dollar per page. The fee for regular copies is 25 cents per page, or 50 cents per double-sided page. | A certified copy is one that has been attested, or verified, by the Clerk of Court as a true copy of the original, and includes the seal of the Clerk of Court. Requests for copies of warrants and/or indictments should be made in person. Payment of fees for copies must be in cash or a money order and is expected at the time the copies are made. The Criminal Records Department of the Clerk of Courts office is located in Suite 228 of the Greenville County Courthouse, at 305 East North Street. The office hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. |
