Copies of Records
Most of the files located in the Clerk of Court’s office are available for public
viewing and copying. Notable exceptions include dismissed warrants, cases sealed by
judicial order, juvenile cases, filings related to adoptions, or any other filings
prohibited by law.
State Tax Liens up to 1999 are located in the Clerk of Court’s Office. State Tax Liens after this date and Federal Tax Liens are located at the Greenville County Register of Deeds Office located in County Square on University Ridge. Photocopying machines are available for public use within several departments of the Clerk of Court’s office. The cost for photocopies is twenty-five cents ($.25) per page for single sided copies or fifty cents ($.50) per page for double-sided copies. The Clerk of Court’s office can also certify and seal copies for one dollar ($1.00) per page. Computer generated printouts from the Clerk of Court’s public index are also available for a cost of fifty cents ($.50) per page. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, money order or business check. The Clerk of Court does not currently accept credit or debit cards as payment. |
The Clerk of Court’s public access records are available for inspection on the second
floor of the Greenville County Courthouse, which is located in downtown Greenville at
305 East North Street.
Public online searches may now be performed via the Internet.
Please note that some older files may not be available for immediate viewing and will have to be requested from the Clerk of Court’s off-site record retention facilities. Off-site files are generally available for viewing at the Clerk of Court’s office on the following Tuesday after a request has been made. |
