Question:

When will snow be plowed in a particular area? What factors are used to determine when a street is plowed?

Answer:

Any road meeting two or more of the following criteria is designated as a snow route. Contact the Public Works Division at (864) 467-7016 for more information.

1) Community Grocery Store
2) Hospital
3) Doctors' Clinic and Offices
4) Drugstores
5) Roads having an average daily traffic count greater than 500 vehicles per day.
6) Certain steep grades in excess of 8%.
7) Roads providing direct access to major commercial/industrial areas.
